据悉，象限仪流星雨的活跃期为12月28日至次年1月12日，而 2020 年的极大期预计出现在1月4日16时20分前后，每小时的天顶流量（ZHR）可达120， 远大于多数 流星雨 。但是，象限仪座 流星雨 的时间非常短暂，所以有兴趣欣赏流星雨的朋友得记得在1月4日晚上11时后抬头看看喽！
其实欣赏流星雨并不需要望远镜等特殊器材，也不限于特定的景点，只需挑选视野开阔，光害与空气污染较少的地方以肉眼观赏即可。除了用双眼扫视天空外，也可利用相机或录像机进行长时间曝光以捕捉流星的身影。适合赏星的地点通常以两千公尺以上的高山最佳，乡村地区次之，而城市周边的光害与空气污染严重，并不适合。
