百事可乐在1996年推出了Pepsi Kona。2004年，百事可乐在此基础上于国际市场上推出了Pepsiccino，它的奶油味较为浓郁，像似卡布奇诺。
可口可乐于2006年推出类似产品Coca-Cola Blak，但两年后停产。2017年，可口可乐在澳洲推出了Coca-Cola Plus Coffee。一年后，该公司在调整了配方后将其带到亚洲市场进行了多次测试。
